CNAS STEM students new and returning are encouraged to register for the upcoming school year to stay connected and updated with all things STEM.
The UCR CNAS Transfer Connections Program formerly known as CNAS STEM Connections is dedicated to supporting the academic and professional success of students within the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS); specifically incoming and current transfer students. CNAS Transfer Connections provides opportunities for CNAS transfers to participate in community-building activities which include transfer peer socials, student skill-building workshops, transfer transition peer mentorship, and faculty-networking opportunities. Also, CNAS Transfer Connections supports CNAS in the recruitment of transfer students to UC Riverside through various outreach activities and efforts. The CNAS Transfer Connections Program aims to help students transfer, transition, and thrive at UC Riverside. You'll see that CNAS Transfer Connections has many programs tailored just for you.
History of Program
The program began as a grant and was originally named STEM Pathways Program, later STEM Connections, and now known as CNAS Transfer Connections. The University of California, Riverside was awarded two HSI-STEM grants funded by the Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) Program through the United States Department of Education.
These grants aimed at increasing the number of Hispanic and low-income community college students transferring into the STEM fields at UC Riverside and to enhance support more generally for Hispanic and low-income students at UCR who are pursuing bachelor and advanced degrees in fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). UCR is also partnered with local community colleges to assist students in transferring to four-year universities and provide needed services to the surrounding communities. CNAS Transfer Connections is open to all students.
